This internship supports the course that provides students with supervised training and work experience in approved program establishments. All students must complete the Y's volunteer application, background screening and child safety training.

The goals of this internship are to: Provide supervised, hands-on experience Support students in applying classroom knowledge through structured, real-world work experience within an approved program establishment. Develop professional skills and competencies Strengthen communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and ethical decision-making in a professional setting. Bridge theory and practice Enable students to connect academic concepts from coursework to practical application under guided supervision. Promote career exploration and readiness Help students gain insight into professional roles, workplace expectations, and career pathways related to their field of study. Encourage reflective learning and growth Support students in evaluating their performance, receiving feedback, and identifying areas for continued development. Ensure a structured and supportive learning environment Provide meaningful training, mentorship, and evaluation aligned with course objectives and university standards.
